Greetings to all. Concerning the painting of MDF Buildings I came across a Primer from the manufacturer “Montana Cans”. The manufacturer is known in the “Street Art Scene” but the Universal Primer, as well as the “Gold” brand work really well on MDF. The Primer does not “wet” the MDF and covers the MDF really well. On the downside the surface gets really smooth by the primer so that another acrylic primer commonly used for tabletop stuff might be needed sometimes. Btw, the primer is of no use for miniatures....tried it......no good.
I hope that some of you find it helpful.

Greetings from germany.

When it comes to paintimg MDF I just use tube acrylics from the craft shops, I apply with brushes or sponges depending on the finish I want. Lighter colours on the ‘cut’ edges may need multiple coats. Sometimes I prepaint but never where glue is required. It seems to work fine...
